Maggie left Joshua Tree and headed to Austin. Alex and I realized this was probably the closest we would be to the Grand Canyon so we took the 3 hr detour. These photo's were taken at 6am. We probably slept 4 hrs that night and I demanded that we be there for first light so i could capture the canyon in all its glory with my 5 dollar Olympus. Obviously it was overcast. We did however catch a few rays of sunlight as we drove the southern rim road throughout the day. It was also about 17 degrees.
