If we let our leaders run our country into the ground we won't be able to ride bikes and drink beers because we will be part of China. Which would be crappy. So at the very least, watch the film, put a few bucks in your savings account every paycheck and vote for fiscally responsible representatives no matter your party affiliation.
Im going to write a letter to some prominent bicycle manufacturers to suggest that they offer at least one frameset that is built in the U.S.A by good ol' red blooded Americans. If you would like to sign it comment below, email me or something. It would be pretty sweet if the DDBG made some rad changes happen... I'd pay a few extra bucks for a Surly that was made here...

That is the beauty in Surly. Cheap CHINESE made bikes that have some of the options that smaller American builders offer like clearances for fenders and now, S&S couplers. All with shitty stove pipe tubing. Mass production with cheap materials drives the price down.
ReplyDeleteThe deal is that you wouldn't be paying "a little more" for a Surly made here, you would be paying a shit ton more. If you want an American made bike constructed of good materials you have to pay for it.
Save your nickels and dimes and get and IF, Spooky or some other boutique bike.
Apparently I've had too much coffee today.
Also, I ride Taiwanese bikes and have zero issue with it.
